Students use language to engage in meaningful conversation to understand and interpret spoken language and written text. Students present information, concepts and ideas.

Goals

  • Students articulate thoughts and ideas effectively using oral, written and nonverbal communication skills in a variety of forms and contexts.
  • Students use communication for a range of purposes (e.g. to inform, instruct, motivate, and persuade).
  • Students communicate effectively in diverse multi-lingual environments.

The activities and resources listed in each table support the 21st century skill on this page in the context of a program abroad. Each table contains links to the activity that will support your student's skill building before you go on the program, while you are abroad and when you get back. Click on the name of the activity in the chart and you will go to that activity. You will be able to navigate back to any of the skills at any time using the navigation pane.
